Douglas County Herald, Ava, Missouri, Thursday, April 25, 1963 obit:
"Service Friday for Mrs. Lizzie Curnutt, 98 ---- Mrs. Lizzie Curnutt, 98, long time resident of the Denlow community, for 12 years a resident of Ava, and for the past 22 years resident of Marshfield, died April 24 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, where she had been a patient the last five days. Her husband, Francis Marion Curnutt, for several years a county official of Douglas county, preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1950. Since that time Mrs. Curnutt made her home principally with a granddaughter, Mrs. Inez Boulson, in Marshfield. Surviving are three children, Fred Curnutt of Ava, Mrs. Leota Beason, Woodriver, Ill., and Mrs. Boulson; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Clinkingbeard chapel here Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. James Hoggard, General Baptist pastor, and L. E. Reynolds, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Ava cemetery. She was a member of the Ava General Baptist Church."
