Mrs. Nellis J. Gardner, 69, of Audubon Parkway, died Saturday [February 23, 1985] at Humana Hospital Audubon. She was the former Mary Katherine Cody and a teacher at Eastside Academy. Survivors besides her husband include four sons, Richard, James, John & Michael Gardner; three daughters, Mrs. Judith Kiesler, Mrs. Karen Beach and Mrs. Martha Steimel; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Harlow; a brother, Richard Cody; and 19 grandchildren. The body was donated to the University of Louisville School of Medicine. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church, Hess Lane and Pindell Avenue. Visitation at the church will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Eastside Academy.
