Funeral services for Rita H. Childress, 74, of Louisville, were held today at Arch L. Heady Westport Road Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. She died Sunday at her home. She was the former Rita Holt, a native of Parrotsville, Tenn., and a member of West Broadway Baptist Church and Queen Esther Lodge of Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Otey Childress; two daughters, Brenda L. McNeely of Jeffersonville, and Glenda M. Harbolt, Louisville; two sisters, Bonnie Whaley and Emerald Anderton, both of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Louisville.
