"Erby/Irby" Erbine Estel Hampton was the fifth of nine children of "Buck" William Noah Hampton and "Belle" Dora Belle Haneline Hampton of Greene County, Arkansas.

Records indicate Erby was married to Eva Rutledge in 1914 in Greene County, Arkansas and had two sons: Cloyce Hampton and L.T. Hampton.

Records list his second wife as Beatrice Cleveland in 1935.

Family members believe he was married a third time, but the name of his wife is not known.
