Dies In Delaware

Charles Frederick Fifer, 84, retired farmer, died suddenly Tuesday evening at the home of his son, Harvey Fifer, of Dover, Del.

Until stricken he appeared in his usual health and his death came great shock to his family and host of friends.

A son of the late George W. and Margaret Cup Fifer, he was born April 25. 1870 in the Sangerville community.

On Jan. 26, 1896 he married Miss Mary Showalter, who preceded him in death number of years ago.

They made their home in the Mill Creek community until 1916 when they moved to Maryland and then to Delaware where he was a fruit grower.

He was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are two daughters and four sons, Mrs. J. M. (Fleta) Bennett, of Wyoming, Del.; Dr. J. S. Fifer, of Alexandria; Mrs. J. Galen (Virginia) Wampler, of Wyoming, Del.; C. Frederick Fifer II, Wyoming. Del.; and Harvey P. Fifer, of Dover. Del. He also is survived by 22 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, John W. Fifer, of Bridgewater; and number of nieces and nephews.

Three children, Bessie Hope Fifer, Harry Wilson Fifer, and Francis Allen Fifer, brother, James Fifer, and two sisters, Mrs. Little Hess and Mrs. Libbie Richie, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the Mill creek Church of the Brethren.

Long's Funeral Home went yesterday to Delaware for the body.
