Andreas Hoffmann Dies at
Age of 83 years;
Came From Germany

Andreas Hoffman, 82 years old, and resident of Scott county for the past 72 years, passed away at his home on Schmidt’s road at 10:30 o’clock this morning.
He was born in Probstei, Germany, October 28, 1840(sic), and came to America with his parents, and direct to Scott county in 1851.
In 1867 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Schricker, and has resided in Davenport continuously since that time.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Hoffmann, three daughters, Mrs. John Meier of Long Grove, and Mrs. Harry Jansen and Mrs. Henriette Hard, both of Davenport, and four sons, George Hoffmann, Arthur Hoffmann, C. W. Schricker, and J. C. Schricker.
Two brothers Henry and Rudolph Hoffmann, both of Davenport, and 15 grand children and 7 great grandchildren also survive.
Private funeral services will be held from Runge’s chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock and interment will be made in Fairmount cemetery.
