Personal and employment information from Donald Durra and Shree.

Dent Owens is my Grandfather, my Dad's Dad. He was the song leader at our church. He also played the fiddle my Dad bought him, and I have. This is from his wedding photo. He worked as a striker (removed bricks from forms) at a brickyard and supported his wife Laura and nine children. My Dad said it was the hardest job there. He also tended the mules for the brickyard and had a wonderful garden each year. In my memories, he has beautiful white hair.

Was the song leader at the Church of Christ in Camp Taylor.

Dent played the fiddle.

He tended the mules in the brickyard where he worked as a striker, who shook bricks out of their molds.

He raised hogs and maintained a beautiful garden.
