Elizabeth was the daughter of Ludwig and Ann (Kritzler) Hoffman. She married Albert L. Stout in 1884 and they were the parents of seven children: Ludwig Henry, Arthur Daniel, Elsie Clara, Lena Mabel, Helen June, John Jacob and Clifford Hoffman.
Mrs. Stout, 75, Passes Away
Came from Glasgow from Germany in 1882; Services Tuesday
Elizabeth Anna Stout, 75, native of Germany, passed away at her home, 203 West Jefferson St. at 11:20 a.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lutheran church in charge of the Rev. E. A. Piper. Interment will be in Glasgow cemetery. The body will remain at Hoskins Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Tuesday at which time it will be removed to church.
Mrs. Stout was born in Germany on Jan. 12, 1861 and came to the United States in 1882 to the home of her uncle J. J. Kritzler, near Glasgow, where she remained until she was 21 years of age.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church being confirmed at the age of 14.
Mrs. Stout is survived by five children: Ludwig, John, Clifford and Mrs. Fred Cochran, all of Fairfield and Arthur of Chicago. There are also six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lena Mable and Helen June.
Mrs. Stout came to Fairfield 26 years ago. She had been an invalid for five years and seriously ill for the last three months.
