Nellie Beatrice "Bea" Burrell Hammett, 75, of 118 Hammett Store Road, widow of Horace Eugene Hammett, Sr., died Oct. 8, 2005, at her home.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Melvin Ansel and Kandace Leila Farmer Burrell, she was a retired employee of Springs Industries and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Lyman, SC.

She is survived by her four daughters Carolyn Virginia Duncan Hammett Leonard (Larry Leonard) of Inman, Donna Lea Duncan Hammett McDonald (Tommy McDonald) of Lyman, Sandra Dale "Sandy" Hammett of the home, and Sherri Alice Hammett West (Don West) of Inman; a son, Horace Eugene "Buddy" Hammett of Lyman; two brothers, Claude Burrell and wife Kathy of Taylors and Cecil Burrell and wife Lucille of Greer; a sister, Mildred Azilee Burrell Duncan and her husband W.T. Duncan of Duncan; grandchildren, Chrissie Hammett, Mark and Greta Leonard, Brie and Billy Boyce, Jason Hammett, Justin West and Liza West; great-grandchildren, Maddie Leonard and Greg Leonard.

Mrs. Hammett was predeceased by a brother, Edgar Otis Burrell and a beloved grandson, Allen Hammett.

Her first husband was Alvin Duncan.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Steve Durham. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Noah Hammett, Larry Leonard, Mark Leonard, Greg Leonard, Tommy McDonald, Don West, Justin West and Billy Boyce.

Honorary escort will be Brie McDonald Boyce, Liza West, Chrissie Hammett, Maddie Leonard, Greta Leonard and Jason Hammett.

Visitation will be held 7 to 8:30 tonight at Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1600 Holly Springs Road, Lyman, SC 29365.
