Leslie "Rickie" (Richter) Madsen, 71, died unexpectedly Monday, August 17, 2009 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, with her husband and family by her side. Born September 3, 1937 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Herman Richter and Gertrude (Hoffman) Richter. Mrs. Madsen was a graduate of Albany High School and Union School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Albany Medical Center and Capital District Psychiatric Center. Mrs. Madsen was a volunteer at National Little League and Central Babe Ruth for many years and was often referred to as "Mom" by many of the players. She enjoyed her summers at Camp Woodstock in Berne, N.Y. and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Norman J. Madsen and their children, Terese Bennett and her husband Scott, Tamara Signer-Holmes and her husband Kevin, and Kristopher Madsen and his wife Nancy; her grandchildren, Scott Bennett Jr., Kristen Bennett Roberson and her husband Alonzo, and Carrie Bennett, Erin and Kyle Signer, and Jon Holmes, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jody Madsen and great-grandchildren, Keith, Marcus, and Emily Grace Burnett.

Note: For years, our friend Lois Doyle, Rickie and I were pals at all the bingos together. Lois just passed away on June 27, 2009 and is on F.A.G. also. I will have fond memories of both of my dear friends.
