Miss Gilliam was born August 20, 1909 in Old Fort, NC. She was a daughter of the late John Minyard Gilliam and Lillie Parker Gilliam. She was a lifelong member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters.
Miss Gilliam is survived by brother-in-law, M. B. "Whitey" Stewart; nephew, John Stewart and wife Trip of Gastonia; nephew, David Stewart and wife Paula of Gastonia; niece, Jan Hinson and husband Robert of Raleigh, NC; numerous great nieces and nephews.
