DeForest, Abraham (as Deforest) , S5331, NJ Line, applied 2 Oct 1832, Mercer County, PA a resident of Hickory Township, PA and living with his son Isaac Deforest, soldier was born 4 March 1749 in New Jersey, soldier lived in Somerset Co. NJ at enlistment, after the Revolutionary War soldier moved to Hunterdon Co. NJ and in 1820 moved to Mercer Co. PA, in 1844 soldier moved to Brookfield in Trumbull Co. Ohio to live with a daughter Catherine wife of William (?) illegible. The name is Wm. Coon.

Abraham DeForest was a captain in the Revolutionary War, taking part in the campaigns in New Jersey. He died near Sharon in 1847, aged ninety-eight years, nine months and fifteen days. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are still living in and around Sharon.
