SHELBYVILLE - Barbara L. Shride, 77, of Shelbyville, went to be with the Lord surrounded by family at 12:35 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Wayne London officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Henton Cemetery, Henton, IL. Memorials may be given to the Henton Church of God. Mrs. Shride was born on December 12, 1931 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Claude E. "Stub" and Cora Dell Belser Mose. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1949 and was a nurse's aid at Shelby Memorial Hospital for many years. Barbara was a member of the Henton Church of God and enjoyed family, gardening and the St. Louis Cardinals. She married Donald S. Shride on September 15, 1949. Surviving are her husband, Donald; children, Michael T. (Gail Buckles) Shride of Lakewood, Cheryl E. (David) Reider of Wabash, IN, Susan G. (Allen) Wildman of Findlay and J. Alan (Debbie) Shride of Bethany; brothers, Claude (Beverly) Mose, Jr. of Henton and Richard (June) Mose of Hartwell, GA; sister, Norma Jean (Wendell) Hudson of Apache Junction, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Donald S. Shride, Jr. and Donella L. Mitchell; two brothers, Curtis and Danny Mose; one sister, Mary Lawrence; and one grandchild, Deriek A.
