Age 79 passed away peacefully in her sleep Wed., night August 26, 2009 at Broad Acres Nursing Home, RD. Wellsboro, Pa. She was born March 6, 1930 in Elizabethtown, Pa., the daughter of Walter and Elva Ebersole. She graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School, Lancaster, Pa. She was a school teacher prior to her marriage to Luther Cutman. They moved to Halifax, Pa., in 1958 and raised their family on a dairy farm. She was a active member of the Free Grace Brethren in Chrsit Church, teaching Sunday school and Women's Sewing Circle in the community. She was a member of the Society of Farm Women #10, holding leadership positions at the county and state level. She was also a judge of elections and tax collector for Wayne Twp. She will be remembered by many for her quilting passion and the family style home cooked dinners she served at the Cutman farmhouse. She was preceded in death by her first husband Luther. When she married Roy Howe in 1992 she moved to Lawrenceville, Pa., and joined Jemison Valley Brethren in Christ Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
She is survived by: Husband Roy Howe, Lawrenceville, PA., Children - Bonnie Troutman, Halifax, Pa., Robert L. Dauphin, Pa. Eugene A. Chuckey, Tn., Carolyn Clay, Duncannon, Pa., Linda Moyer, Mt. Pleasant, SC., Debra Sweigard, Germantown, MD., Lt. Col. Judith Meek (Ret. AF), Lebanon, IL.
Stepchildren - Thomas Howe, Mansfield, Pa., Laurie Klarman, Sisterville, WV., Jerilyn Brubaker, Westfield, PA. 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother Delmar Ebersole, Iowa City, Ia. Sisters - Lois Kelshner, Elizabethtown, Pa., Ruthie Zimmerman, Harrisburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her brother David, infant brother Wayne and sister Marianna Longenecker.
Services will be held Monday Aug. 31, 2009 at the Jemison Valley Church, 5870 Rte. 249 with viewing at 10:00 am. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville, Pa.
