We adopted Justice from Rott RSQ in Memphis, MI in February 2005.
We couldn't be sure of his age but he was probably a year & a half old or so.
He was definitely a different dog.
At first, my nickname for him was "Noodle Dog" because he would jump up in the air when he was outside & be all limp & twisted like a noodle. He especially liked to do this in the snow since it was winter when we got him & we had a good snowfall that year. When he would lay down on his pet bed or the floor he always looked like he was trying out moves that a contortionist would do.
When he would be out at the pond, he would bark at the catfish in the pond like they didn't belong there.
For all of his goofy behavior, he listened well to my husband. He listened to me the best if a treat or table scraps were involved.
We did obedience training with him & he did go on to get his CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) certification.
A month or two before he had to be put down he became incontinent, had an attitude change, & started taking some of the oddest things off of the shelves in the pantry & would actually eat them.
Our female, Liberty was/is fine & it was determined to be a liver problem with Justice.
We don't let our animals suffer so we did what was necessary no matter how hard it was.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
