Roy Cecil Sharum was born September 5, 1920 at Wright Station, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County), son of James Ellas Sharum and Jennie Bowles. On June 28, 1941 Roy Cecil Sharum married Jacqueline Mills in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was born in Oklahoma and is the daughter of Lester Masel Mills and Eva Dahila Goss. Roy and Jacquelin had no children. Roy served in the U.S. Army during World War II from September 8, 1942 to November 11, 1945. Roy later worked as a carpenter. He died of lung cancer on April 15, 1961, in the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Services for Roy Cecil Sharum, 40. of 9617 SE 4, who died Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery.

Sharum was born in Oklahoma City. He was a carpenter.

Surviving are his father, James E., of the city; a nephew, Ernest Boyd, of the home: five brothers, Leonard, Ada; Ralph, Guthrie; James E. jr., and Alvin, both of the city, and Boyd, of California, and four sisters, Mrs. Mae Smith, Tulsa; Mrs. Ruth Dodson and Mrs. Edith Smith, both of the city, and Miss Betty Jean Sharum.
