"James Gallagher Jr. Spokane

Memorial service for James A. Gallagher Jr., 70, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. There will be private inurnment at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Gallagher, who died Saturday, was born in Austin, Minn., and was raised in Waterloo, Iowa.

He attended Iowa State University.

He lived in the Coeur d'Alene area for more than 19 years and moved to Spokane in 1973. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood for 28 years before retiring in 1982. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the United Church of God.

He was a Ham Radio operator for 32 years.

Mr. Gallagher is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joan; a daughter, Julie Roberto of Spokane; four sisters, Dorothy Davis, Shirley McConnell and Wanda Radford, all of Spokane, and Beverly Shaulis of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Norman Gallagher of Spokane; and a grandson."
