Mrs. Ida Zentzis

Ida Mae Burdick was born Jan. 31, 1862, Eau Galle township, St. Croix county, Wis., and passed away at her home Friday evening about 7:30 Sept. 29, 1939.

In 1876 she married Hiram J. Rudesill. He passed away in September 1892. To this union nine children were born - Mrs. Lottie Hanson and Lloyd of Baldwin, Mrs. D. D. Clark (Alice) of Spring Valley, Mrs. W. W. Birthman (Emma) of Glen Flora, Mrs. R. H. Green (Bessie) of Minneapolis, Manley of Winter, Hiram of River Falls, Addie of Plaza, Wash., who passed away in 1934 and Andrew who passed away when only two years old in the year 1880.

Later Mrs. Rudesill married Wm. Zentzis. He passed away in June 1929. To this union five children were born - Mrs. Olive Thoen and LaVerne Rorvig of Baldwin, Mrs. Manley Griffey (Myrtle) of Martell, Walter of Hudson and Orin of St. Paul.

Since Mr. Zentzis' death she has made her home with her daughter, LaVerne, on the old homestead.

She has given a life of love an sacrifice to her children and to all who knew her. Being of a timid nature she wasn't a leader but was always willing to do her part. For many years she was member of the Centerville Methodist church.

Her health began to fail her during the early part of the year but she never gave up doing her household duties until May. From that time she has been confined to bed most if the time. On Friday she seemed stronger than usual eating her meals as usual. After eating her evening meal she lay down to rest and passed away without a struggle. Her daughters, Alice and LaVerne, were with her at the time.

She leaves to mourn her parting, 12 children, 37 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. M. D. Lonergan of Minneapolis, and one brother, Orville, of Spring Valley, besides several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

She was carried to her final resting place by six of her grandsons: Harvey Hanson, Harley Thoen, Gordon Rudesill, Joseph Peabody, Lyle Green, and Robert Rudesill.
