Orville T. Burdick

Orville T. Burdick was born March 24, 1969 to Melissa and Orlando Burdick at New Centerville.

Most of his life was spent in and around the village of Spring Valley. In the year 1905 he married Lillie Mae Osborne of Brookville. To this union was born eight children, two of them dieing in infancy.

He was seriously ill last winter with a severe cold from which he never fully recovered. Because of failing health he has spent the last few years living with his children.

He was taken sick October 28, 1948 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roger De Young, and died at the age of 79 years, seven months and four days.

His mother, father, three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his death one sister, Mrs. Ruth Lonergan, of Minneapolis, three daughters, Myrtle (Mrs. Robert Blank of Woodville), Gladys (Mrs. Walter Brown of Roberts) and Nellie (Mrs. Roger De Young of Woodville), three sons, Glenn, of Janesville, Melvin, of Roberts and La Verne of Chippewa Falls, thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, besides many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held October 31 at the Geving Funeral Home with Rev. D. M. Sterling officiating. Burial was made in the Centerville Cemetery beside his mother and father. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives.
