Mary Leila Armistead Autry, 83, of 154 Centennial Road, Rutledge, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Newton General Hospital. She was a housewife.
She was born in Morgan County December 18, 1914, the daughter of the late Alonza Armistead and the late Rebecca Hester Armistead. She was married to the late William Herbert Autry, Sr.
Services were held Tuesday, February 10, at 11 o'clock in Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Russell Repeiske officiating. Interment was in Hillhaven Cemetery, Monroe.
Mrs. Autry is survived by five sons, Mr. William David Autry, Social Circle, Mr. Bobby Autry, Mr. Tim Autry and Mr. Steve Autry, all of Rutledge, and Mr. William Herbert Autry, Jr., Social Circle, two daughters, Mrs. Mable Campbell, Madison, and Mrs. Linda Penn, Bostwick, three sisters, Mrs. Modella Smith, Covington, Mrs. Agnes Allen, Monticello, and Mrs. Helen Scott, Tampa, Florida, 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Simmons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
