Scranton- Herbert Harshbarger, 79, of Scranton died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, November, 25, at the Jefferson Manor, Jefferson, after a long illness. He was a retired farmer.
Rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton, where friends may call. The Rev. Robert Voorhees, pastor of the Scranton Friends Church, will officiate; burial will be in the Dillavou cemetery.
Mr. Harshbarger was a lifelong resident of Kendrick township, Greene county, where he was born May 19, 1894. He was a son of John and Josephine Brown Harshbarger. On December 30, 1915, he was married to Bertha May Howe at Carroll.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Fern) Cochran of Glidden; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a niece, Mrs. Russell Miller of Scranton, who was reared in the Harshbarger home. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
