OBITUARIES
MILLERTON — Judy Vassak, 50, a
resident of Middleburgh, and former
12-year Millerton resident, died June 11,
1997 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Conn.
A homemaker, she had worked for
many years as a cafeteria worker in the
Webutuck Central School District and at
Trotta's Grocery in Millerton.
Born June 4, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, she
was a daughter of Louie and Elinor Ballard
Slocum.
On Aug. 14, 1983, she married John J.
Vassak in Patterson. Mr. Vassak survives
at home.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vassak
is survived by three sons, Edward Bishop
of Millerton, and Dean and Darren Bishop
of Stormville; two daughters, Shari
Shackelton of Pine Plains and Alisa
Livingston of Watson ville; three step-
daughters, Kelly Nelson and Bonnie
Vassak of Wingdale and Debbie Carr
of Dover Plains; three sisters, Bonnie
Mead of Dover Plains, Shirley
Alexander of Holmes and June Mead
of Middlburgh; and four grandchil-
dren.
Arrangements were made by the
Dwyer Funeral Home, Patterson. Ser-
vices were at the funeral home with
the Rev. Mark Bouffard officiating.
Burial was in Livingstonville Cem-
etery.
