She was born August 4, 1917, at Longton, Kansas, the daughter of Delbert W. Pierce and Florence Edna Miller Pierce. She was raised and attended schools in Independence, Kansas.
She was a co-owner and operator of Proctor's Family Restaurant, Hutchinson, retiring in 1974.
On July 26, 1937 she married Neil Proctor in Independence, Kansas. He died on Friday, July 24, 1987, just 2 days before their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Sunday, July 26, 1987. She was a longtime Hutchinson 60 year resident.
Survivors include: a daughter, Janet Ann Proctor Brawner, and son-in-law Wayne Brawner of Hutchinson; a grandson Scott Michael Brawner, Hutchinson; a sister-in-law, Alta Z. Engler Proctor, of Hutchinson.
