Barbara Walk (nickname "Barbary") was the daughter of Jonathan Walk (1769-1835) and Sarah Catherine Frank (1776-p1850), who married 28 Nov 1795 at Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina. It is not known where Jonathan or Sarah are buried.

Barbara first married to Neal McGill on 04 Feb 1813 at Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina. Nothing is known of Neal. After Neal died, Barbara remarried to Absalom Kepley (c1804-a1850) on 21 Jan 1826. Barbara was the mother of five known children , namely:

1. Duncan McGill (1819-???)
2. John Neal McGill (1821-1876)
3. William Kepley (1828-1891)
4. Sarah Ann Catherine Kepley (1830-???)
5. Amanda Jane Kepley Walden Holder (1840-1909)

The widow Barbara was living with her married daughter Amanda in 1860 and 1870.
