COX, BERNICE B. born Sept. 23, 1912 in Monroe, GA to James M. and Lizzie Mae Bradley, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Sept. 6, 2009 after a long illness.

She was very active in her church and in starting several new Baptist churches in the Orlando area, along with her husband, Gerald L. Cox, sponsored by the First Baptist Church, led by Rev. V. N. Maggard.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995, after 66 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Elizabeth Evans; her sisters: Rachel Geiger and Nell Muldrow; brothers: Jack, Reese and Jimmy Bradley; two grandsons: Billy Powell and Jerry Evans, of Orlando. She is also survived by her daughters: Geraldine Saulsbury, Patsy Stalcup (Gene), Mary Powell (Bill) of McDonough, GA and Cookie Rawson (Duane) of Overgard, AZ; 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral Service was held on Thursday, at 7 p.m. at East Orlando Baptist Church, 8287 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando, FL 32822 with Rev. Danny Strickland officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Interment will be 10 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 106 American St., Orlando 32806; Magnolia House Assisted Living, 300 E. Kaley St., Orlando, 32806 or to the East Orlando Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to WOODLAWN MEMORIAL PARK & FUNERAL HOME 407-293-1361.
