David Ater of Macon,father of Mrs.Lola Coleman of Decatur died in the Moweaqua hospital Thursday evening. Mr.Ater had been a patient in the hospital since June 28, 1931.
Mr.Ater was born in Pickaway county, Ohio,Aug.9, 1846 and came to Illinois when he was 21 years old. He was married to Miss Jane Peck of Cerro Gordo who died in 1923. Besides his daughter in Decatur he leaves the following children, Daniel Ater, Defiance,Ohio,Mrs. Lillie Cole of Monroeville, Ind, James Ater of Monticello, Roy, Newt and Jesse Ater, all of Macon. One daughter preceded him in death.
