Mrs. Mary M. Painter, 79, died yesterday afternoon at 4:10 o'clock at the home of her grandson, Melvin Campbell, 217 12th Street. Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the Haines Chapel, Montebello, with Rev. D. B. Garber, of this city, and Rev. Elwood Cunningham, of Remington, in charge. Interment will be in the cemetery at the chapel.

The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home on West Main Street until 12:30 p.m. Sunday when the procession will leave the funeral home for Montebello.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. J. Campbell and Mrs. Mattie Campbell, both of Waynesboro; one son, D. G. Painter, also of Waynesboro; two brothers, Sam Carr, of Staunton, and Emmett Carr, of Montebello; and three sisters, Mrs. Vertie Carr, of Buena Vista, Mrs. F. P. Hammer, of Elkton, and Mrs. Jane Carr, of Danville. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
