Sarah Ann Haines Currier was the daughter of John Haines, Jr and Minerva Howell Haines.

Sarah's father owned and operated a sawmill and an hotel in Lewisburg, Cass County, Indiana where Sarah was raised.

In 1857, Sarah married Edwin Moses Currier, the son of Moses Currier and Mary Bartlett. Edwin was from Massachusetts and had been previously married to Ruth Nutter.

In 1864, Sarah and Edwin moved to Jefferson, Colorado where Edwin worked as a Livestock Dealer and farmer.

Sarah and Edwin had ten children, who were:
*William M Currier (1858-1925);
*Infant, male, (1860-1860);
*Edwin Currier, Jr (1863-1863);
*Infant, male (1864-1864);
*Minnie May Currier (1866-1936);
*Edmonia R Currier (1868-1869);
*Cora B Currier (1870-1947);

*Effie Mildred Currier (1880-1942).
