Mrs. Fannie Cox Yarborough, 69, widow of Charles James Yarborough, died Wednesday at a local hospital.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at East Side Free Will Batist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Annex, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Yarborough was born at St. Augustine, Fla., a daughter of the late Willie B. Cox and Mrs. Ida Ethridge Cox. She resided in Andrews before moving to Georgetown in 1946 and attended East Side Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are: three sons, Hildrea Yarborough of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Jimmie Yarborough and Donald Yarborough, both of Georgetown; four daughters, Mrs. Bertie Lee Player, Mrs. Eva Mae Jordan, and Mrs. Wanda Gray, all of Georgetown, and Mrs. Olean Young of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a brother, Eddie Cox of Georgetown; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Marlowe and Mrs. Lizzie Ward, both of Andrews; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

(Note: Fannie's birth year calculated from this obituary is 1908. 1907 or 1908 agrees with the 1910 census. A Mayer Funeral Home record states her birth date as Dec 18, 1907. Her tombstone has Dec 18, 1905. The 1910 and 1920 censuses agree that Fannie was born two to three years after Pearl.)
