Mary Turkington was the daughter of Alexander Turkington and Margaret Myers/Mairs. She came to America 27 June 1859 with her mother and step-father Thomas Surpless from Lurgan, Armagh, Northern Ireland. She married James Boyce on 23 Mar 1870 in Woodstock, Connecticut and had 8 children:
