Clarinda A. Kenison was the d/o Jacob Kenison (b. 1811 VT-d. 1890 Iowa) & Eliza Jane Lampman (1819 VT-d. 1863 NY). The family founder in America was John Keniston b. 1615 Lancashire, England who traveled to the Massachusetts Bay Colony c. 1630; he lived @ "Strawberrye Banke" -today's Portsmouth, NH until his death April 16, 1677 during "King Phillip's War". The administer of the estate of "John Keniston who was lately slain by ye Indians" was granted to his widow Agnes (Moody) Keniston Aug 1, 1677 (Belnap I,81, NH Probate Records, Vol I, pg 191). This Keniston line stretches back into very early times In Shropshire, England.

Clarinda married GB Hamilton June 16, 1864 at Bellmont, Franklin Co., NY. They moved to Grundy Co., Iowa aft. 1870 and then on to Lake & Minnehaha Co., SD about 1885. After the death of GB Hamilton (1901) she next married (1906) Henry Hodson (d. 1913) & in 1914 SD next married JK Garrison. After his death in 1922 (SD)- in 1925 she & several of her married daughters moved to California.

The Kenison, Azeltine, Gage, Lampman families are deeply intertwined in marriages including the marriages of two daughters of GB Hamilton & Clarinda Kenison. Fannie M. Hamilton & Jessie L. Hamilton both married Kenison family line cousins.

G.B. Hamilton was the father of all of her children.
