Talmadge Harper, 73, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Bethel Baptist Church, Ocilla with Rev. Tracy Clements and Rev. Jack Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ben Hill County. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 P.M., on Tuesday, at Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla.

Mr. Harper was born, September 26, 1930 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Elisha and Dessie Allen Harper. He lived in Ben Hill County for the past five years from Irwin County where he lived most of his life. Mr. Harper worked for 35 years at Irwin Manufacturing Corporation and he was a former farmer. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War era and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ocilla.

Survivors include: Wife, Josephine T. Harper, Fitzgerald; three sons, Tony Harper, Ocilla, Andy Harper and Michael Harper, both of Ben Hill County; one daughter, Sandy Harper, Wilcox County; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; five brothers, Lorenzal Harper, Ronald Harper, Donald Harper, Vernon Harper and Charles Harper, all of Ocilla; five sisters, Aline Leverett, Ocilla, Margaret Railey, Fitzgerald, Mary Forbes, Monroe, NC, Carolyn Kirkland, Pearson and Alicia Harper, Fitzgerald
