The funeral for Shelvie Adams, 74, of Elkmont, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Spry Funeral Home with Coyle Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Adams died Friday, July 4, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital.
He was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Madison County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Redstone Arsenal.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Adams; four sons, Shelvie Charles Adams of Huntsville, Jerry Adams of Arab, Perry Adams of Huntsville and Kenneth Wayne Adams of Ardmore, Ala.; five daughters, Ann Davis of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Pat Sartain of Mulberry, Tenn., Doris Fay Bogle of Huntsville, Nancy Jones of Elkmont, and Chris Tripp of Somerville; two brothers, Lucius Terrell Adams of Pinson and J.D. Adams of Huntsville; two sisters, Maudie Raines and Elizabeth Campbell, both of Huntsville; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
