Vivian A. Setterberg, 100, of Burlington died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at Burlington Care Center.

Born July 5, 1909 in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Anna Wilkie Sheridan. On Sept. 6, 1930, she married Edward Setterberg at "The Little Brown Church" in Nashua, Iowa.

Mrs. Setterberg worked in food service for area schools for nine years. She attended Huron Consolidated schools and Burlington Business College.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Friends of the Library, State and Des Moines County Historical and Genealogical Societies.

Survivors include one nephew, Dean Sheridan of Burlington; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; six brothers, Paul, Loyal, Ronald, Clifford, Carroll, and Kermit Sheridan; and three sisters, Gertrude Miller, Genevieve Sheridan and Lillian Louise "Lily Lou" Sheridan.

No formal visitation is planned, cremation has been accorded.

The memorial service for Mrs. Setterberg will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Asbury Methodist Church, with Pastor Jerry Rigdon officiating. Ash committal will be in Aspen Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Asbury United Methodist Church and Des Moines County Historical Society.
