And a resident of Franklinton died at 1:30 pm Wednesday September 17, 2009. She was a devoted and active member of Trinity Baptist Church and a long time day care provider for countless young people in our area. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for having a great sense of humor.

Husband: J.L. Creel of Franklinton
Son: Jimmy Creel of Franklinton
Granddaughter: DeJah Hano
2 Sisters: Yvonne and Justin Bahm of Husser
Connie and Billie Mulina of Franklinton
Brother: William "Bud" Bateman of Jayess, MS
Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Lilly McClendon Bateman and brothers Ronald Troy Bateman and Ronald Garland Bateman.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday September 18th from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 8 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stan Statham and Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery.
