Joe D. Watkins, age 63, of Benton, Ky., died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky. Watkins was employed by USDA and was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. .
He was the son of the late Connie Watkins and the late Maudelene (Holt) Watkins.
He is also survived by his wife Lucy Fern (Mirtz) Watkins;

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Inc., 211 W Fifth Street, Benton, Ky., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 20, 2005 , Revs. Ben Mirtz and Bob Saywell officiating. Interment will be at Maple Spring Cemetery in Benton, Ky.
Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2005 in the Collier Funeral Chapel. The public is invited to attend.
Family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospitals, 1900 Richmond Rd. Lexington, KY 40502. Envelopes will be provided at the Collier Funeral Home.
