Services for Mrs. Dorothy DeLoache Barnard, age 84, will be Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:30pm at North Highland United Methodist Church in Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel.
Dorothy was born on October 11, 1924 in Daisettia, TX, to Benjamin and Mittie DeLoache and passed away in Shreveport, LA, on September 18, 2009. Dorothy was a Member of North Highland United Methodist Church in Shreveport. She was the first lady supervisor for the Social Security Disability Administration.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Lyle Mordiff Barnard and parents. She is survived by sons, Ray Barnard and wife Diane, Lyle M. Barnard II, both of Shreveport, LA, daughter Kay Barnes and husband Jimmy of Bossier City, LA, grandchildren, Wendy Daniels and husband Phillip, Kami Barnes, Lori Hatcher and husband Richard, Carie Ebarb and husband Mike, Tracy Lear and husband Richard, Lyle M. Barnard III, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Dorothy, as pallbearers will be Richard Hatcher, Phillip Daniels, Mike Ebarb, Jimmy Counts, Richard Lear and Lyle M. Barnard III.
