April 4 John Abbe, a highly respected citizen, died at his home northwest of town, of lung fever. Deceased was one of the first settlers in this vicinity, coming here in 1878. His remains were laid at rest at the Lutheran cemetery at Grant on Tuesday. The church was unable to hold the crowd of neighbors and friends who had gathered to pay their respects for the deceased and to assist at the last sad rites.
