The Wathen family are caused to morn the loss of their mother who died Saturday, fore noon, this leaves them without a living parent, the father having passed away but a little over a year ago. The community sympathises with them.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Wathen of Formoso. She was a friend to all and loved by all who knew her.

Mrs. Wathen departed this life Saturday March 24th, and was buried Monday. The bereaved relatives have sympathy of all in this, their great sorrow.

Angeline Powell was born in Ohio, December 20th, 1847. She moved to Nebraska with her folks in 1856, married to Henry Wathen August the 8th, 1867. They moved from Nebraska to Kansas in November 1900 and located on the farm formerly owned by the Norris family. Eleven children were born to this union, five of whom still survive them, four sons and one daughter. She died Saturday, March the 24th 1906, and was buried Monday the 26th in the Pleasant View cemetery. Funeral were conducted by Rev. Jewett of Courtland.
