Delmar Steinbach of Carlton, Wash., a former Whatcom County resident who worked for area lumber mills died Monday in a Brewster hospital at the age of 69. Born Jan. 1, 1916 at the Whatcom County Hospital in North Bellingham he attended Femdale schools. He lived in Bellingham and later in Everson. A lumber carrier driver he worked at Larson mill in Bellingham and retired from Great Western Lumber Co at Everson. He moved to Carlton in Okanogan County in 1981. Survivors include his wife, Adeline, two sons, including Galen Steinbach of Everson, three stepsons, including Keith Knight of Anacortes, a daughter, a stepdaughter, a brother, two sisters and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Saturday in Twisp with burial there.
