Joe Wilson Vanderburg, 3rd child of Jodie and Minnie was born November 8, 1914. Joe was named for his grandfather Joseph Sidney Vanderburg, and his grandfather Wilson Howard. After graduation from High School he joined the CCC's, and had many fond memories of the experience that he had in New Mexico, and after the war, he headed back there to live.

Joe married Dorothy J. Timberlake, just before World War 11. His military service was spent in the Navy and was originally assigned to the ship "Bunker Hill", but it left before he boarded and he was then placed on the "Sierra". His career was in the Anaconda Copper and Uranium Mines, supervising men and equipment for mining.

Joe's hobby was designing and constructing Navaho Indian Jewelry and hunting Indian Pots in the mountains outside Grants, New Mexico; many trips were made to fish at Red Lake, on the Indian Reservation. After retirement in 1979, he and Dorothy moved back to Texas to be near their families.

Two children were born to their marriage: Billie Jo and Harold Gene Vanderburg. Billie Jo died in 2003 and is buried in Terral Cemetery.

Dorothy died January 6, 2001. Joe died January 31, 2002 in Nocona, Texas; both are buried in Terral Oklahoma Cemetery.
