GARRETT F. GRAHAM, 77, DIES AT HIS HOME IN LA PLATA TUESDAY
Garrett Francis Graham, a native of La Plata, died at his home Tuesday morning after an illness of several months. He was 77 years of age.
The son of Ellen and Luther Graham, he was born Dec. 3, 1879 in La Plata. In 1900 he was married to Belle Snow. To this union one son was born, Luther of La Plata. His wife preceded him in death.
On Dec. 22, 1904 he was married to Albine Jane Ross. To this union was born nine children: Della Neal of Bakersfield, California, Howard and Cecil of La Plata, Mildred Stewart of Clarence, Paul of Ft. Madison, Iowa, and Pearl of Chicago.
Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death, along with one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife; six children; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Jim of La Plata, Ellis of Indiana, and John of Kirksville.
For many years Graham was a teamster in La Plata, engaged largely in the hauling of coal with a horse and wagon.
He was a member of the Wilsontown Baptist Church. Funeral services will be this afternoon at the Baptist church with the Christie Funeral Home in charge. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
