Mrs. Edith Miller Powell, 74, of Carrollton, died of cancer Thursday, November 4, 1999, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital,

Mrs. Powell, a Greenwood native, had been a resident of Carrollton for the past 20 years. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Carroll County. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Miller, and also her second husband, Charles E. Powell.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Williams & Lord Chapel in Greenwood with the Rev. Archie Goodwin officiating assisted by the Rev. Leon Holly. Burial was in Sidon Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell is survived by one daughter, Margie Corley of McCarley; two sons, Donald Miller and Joe Miller, both of Carrollton; one sister, Alice Bailey of Carrollton; two brothers, Sam Parker of Oklahoma City, Bill Parker of Crawfordsville, Iowa; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ben Miller, Matt Miller, Donnie Miller, Obie Miller, Jim Corley and Eddie Corley.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.
