Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Kittrell, 60, were held at the home in Buckingham Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. C. E. Luce, Traer Methodist pastor. Burial was in Buckigham cemetery. Mrs. Kittrell died at her home Tuesday morning following a long illness of heart trouble. She had been a resident of north Tama for the past 30 years. She was twice married, the first time to James Marr. The second marriage was to James Kittrell of Buckingham who died many years ago.
(Traer Star-Clipper July 29, 1937)

Note: Some corrections to the obituary. She was 72 at the time of death (not 60) and her first husband was Charles Maar (not James Marr), who was the father of all her children. These corrections have been added by her great-grandson.
