Died as a Private First Class of remittent fever (believed to be yellow fever) at Brownsville, Texas as a Private First Class in Dec 1877. Married Mary Anne Scantland 6 March 1873 in Franklin County, Kentucky; one daughter, Katherine (born January 10, 1874).
