Jacob is listed as single in the Lutheran Communion records in 1799 & then takes Communion (without his wife listed) in 1802, 1803, & 1804. She may be Reformed & those records are missing. The Communion records end in 1806.
Most of the Carroll Co. MD KNIPPLE families descend from John Henry Christopher KNIPPLE & his wife Magdalina MARTIN.
While both John Henry Christopher KNIPPLE & Jacob KNIPPLE have records at Jerusalem & appear to be in the same generation, we do not know the relationship between the two.
A possibility is that they are brothers & are the sons of Christopher Knippel & wife Catharine of St. Matthews Lutheran Church of Hanover PA & St. David's (Sherman's) Church but proof is lacking.
These are the records for the 3 children of Jacob & Elisabeth. Two of the children, John H. KNIPPLE & Jacob W. KNIPPLE, moved to Bedford Co. PA. Elisabeth KNIPPLE married teamster Peter Shultz of Hanover PA & he with his wife were in the 1830 Census of Napier Twp. Bedford Co. PA. Peter Shultz is in Napier Twp. Bedford Co. PA tax records in 1827, 1828, 1829 as well as in the 1830 Census. Napier Twp. is the location of the 1806 Union Church (Shellsburg) where the record of Jacob W.'s 1831 marriage is recorded.
