From Holland St. John - "Scott was the son of Lewis and Edna St John of Okanogan, Washington. He was born on December 15, 1923 in Okanogan and completed all twelve years in Okanogan schools, graduating in 1941. He was actively involved in athletics, music and drama. Scott had a natural ability in the fine arts which he used later in life when he pursued a career in floor covering. He attended Washington State College and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraterity. He was involved in the orchestra and was a member of the ROTC unit on campus. He married Dorothy Strandberg, also of Okanogan, and they raised two beautiful daughters: Terry and Lorelei. Scott was an avid sportsman during his entire life. He hunted deer, bear, elk, upland game birds, and migratory water fowl, the latter being his favorite. Fishing was equally enjoyable to him. Active in the Elk's Club, he served as the Exalted Ruler of the Omak-Okanogan group and had been involved in civic organizations and activities wherever he lived. As a retired senior, Scott enjoyed fishing, hunting, travelling, gardening, reading and visits with relatives and friends until restricted somewhat by health problems. He passed away in Okanogan on March 7, 1997 at the age of 74."
