Eliza Linday "Lizzie" Morehead was a the first of two children born to Robert Lindsay "Eugene" Morehead (1845-1889) and his wife Lucy Lathrop (1851-1918). I expect she was actually named Ann Eliza Lindsay after her paternal grandmother. In some places, her name is given as Eliza L., others Lizzie A. Her paternal grandfather was Gov. John Motley Morehead, Governor of NC in the 1840s, and a Confederate Congressman. Her father was a Confederate soldier.

Around 1902, Lizzie married to John Fleming Wily (1867-1938), a son of J. W. Wily and his wife Nanny G. Murray of Virginia. He was a banker. Lizzie and John had two sons, John Fleming Wiley, Jr. (1906-1978) and Eugene Morehead Wily (1909-1966). Lizzie and John died just five days apart.
