Following Information provided by Robert Davis Purple Sr. (#47300652): Information from an SAR Application dated 9 Jan 1914 submitted by William Andrew Bacon, on the secondary application page, indicates that Theophulus was born 1761, married Elizabeth Batchelder in 1784, and died 1826. Elizabeth was born 1765 and died in 1835.
The applicant's maternal ancestors list a daughter of Theophilus and Elizabeth : Cynthia Sanborn who was born 1795, married Aaron Merrill in 1817, and died 1861.

Theophilus' services during the Revolutionary War :
"Enlisted September 8, 1777 and served as Searg. In Captain Enoch Page's company of Lieut. Col. Joseph Senter's regiment which marched to Rhode Island. Discharged January 5, 1778. Re enlisted as private in Captain Leavitt's company of Col. Moses Nichol's regiment of volunteers August 27, 1778 in the Rhode Island expedition. New Hampshire records, Vol 2, pps 249, 251, 253, 524."

Father : Abner Sanborn, born 3 Aug 1726 in Hampton Falls NH, died 18 April 1811, title of Deacon.
Mother : Lucy Lowell, christened 31 Mar 1728, died 21 April 1811 (3 days after Anber)
Abner and Lucy were married 12 June 1746.
Theophilus was the sixth of 8 chldren. Siblings : Sarah, Rhoda, Lowell, Phebe, Levi, David, Phebe.

Theophilus and Elizabeth had 6 children : Green, Lowell, Sewell, Cynthia, Thayer Sewell, and Adna.
