He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Queens, New York. He was a very friendly, popular and fun-loving person who especially enjoyed sports including football, basketball, boxing and paddleball. He worked in the airline and retail industries until his health failed.
Leslie married Bernadette Merritt on July 12, 1980. He loved family life and proved to be a devoted husband and father. Leslie departed this life suddenly and prematurely on February 22, 2002.
He is mourned by his loving wife, Bernadette, daughter, Dawn and grandson, Elijah. He is also survived by his brothers, Donald and Mark Alexander of New York, Harold and Barrie Alexander of Atlanta, GA and sisters, Brenda Watts of Atlanta and Judy Simpkins of Tucson, Arizona, as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces around the country. His extended family, with whom he also had fond relationships, includes his loving mother-in-law, Evelyn Merritt, four brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
